Saturday fun time for 4/15/2017

Any other year and you’d be worrying about getting your taxes out today. You can push that to Monday now. Here’s a recap of some great stuff from the last week.

First up Mystery Science Theater 3000 has returned on Netflix. If you are a fan of the show already, I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed with the new version. If you’ve never seen it you really should check it out.

Thor: Ragnarok released a teaser this week and for once they’ve made Thor look really interesting. It doesn’t hurt they are mixing in stylistic elements of Guardians of the Galaxy and setting it all to Led Zeppelin either.

Plus we got our first look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Just two videos this week. I blame Snowmaggedon.

First up is the new trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Next, in keeping with the superheros theme, what if Wes Anderson directed the X-men.

The same team that did that has also done a number of other ‘what if’ of superhero movies. They are worth your time.

Wrongchilde – Gold Blooded – Lyric Video

Where lyric videos started off as kind of one dimensional promotions, it seems lately that they are being elevated in terms of presentation and artistic integrity.  Much like music videos before them.  Take the lyric video for “Gold Blooded” by Wrongchilde.  It incorporates the lyrics into a montage of 80’s nostalgia, or as many of you may see it: history.  The animation of classic movie posters, iconic movie scenes, and lyrics play out for an entertaining visual to an anthemic song for summer.  Enjoy.
