First up a cover of the Eurythmics’ song “I Need You” by David Driver.  David will be playing the Slipper Room in New York City with a number of guests on November 20th.  More info at

Next up the folk sounds of the Parkington Sisters wit the traditional ‘murder’ ballad “In The Pines”(aka “Back Girl” or “Where Did You Sleep Last Night”).

Finally a remix of ‘Ghost City’ by Thomas Azier which was featured as a video yesterday.  The song is remixed by Pyramid.  If you click through to Soundcloud you can download it for free.

Music Miscellany October 30th, 2013

As I’m celebrating the first day of my last year being able to use the ‘thirtysomething’ moniker here is some new music for your listening pleasure.

First up the fuzzy guitar laden sounds of Sleepy Sun with their single “The Lane” from their self titled 7″ available now at

Up next a classic covered by an unconventional duo.  Norah Jones and Billie Joe Armstrong covering the Everly Brothers on “Long Time Gone” the first single from Foreverly due out 11/25.

Finally the pop punk goodness of Le Trouble of which Spin magazine has said ‘ride that thin line between Meat Loaf, Hall and Oates, and punk.’  Personally I think they sound a bit like early Arcade Fire.  This is from the EP Reality Strikes.

Video – Leagues – “Spotlight”

From their upcoming album “You Belong Here” which will be released on 01/29/13.  It is available for pre-order here.

Bess Rogers – Second Chance(video)

New video from her current album ‘Out of the Ocean.’
