Flashback Friday – The kids just don’t understand edition

On this day in 1966 The Monkees debuted on television looking to cash in on the craze the Beatles started.  The prefab four started as a TV act, but eventually took up the instruments they were playing for real and contributed quite a bit to the scene in the late 60’s and early 70’s and are a favorite of mine from childhood(though I’m not old enough to have seen the show debut).  Here they are performing “Pleasant Valley Sunday.”
